13/07/2012 5th Stage: Bad Staffelstain - Schleussingen 77 km

3 2 1 ready set, GO! The noise of the rain on the tent was the natural alarm of this morning. As a consequence the start was delayed, good, for resting some more time. After the typical double croissant breakfast the "good fellas company" decided to leave Bad....bad decison. The blue clouds started to cry immediately and, in addition, my back tyre decided to flatten as well (too many decisions. f**k!). Fortunately the skills in wheel reapiring were still rambling in the hands of the writer and, in one hour, the bike was brand new and ready to bite the asphalt.. It is a pity because asphalt today was a rare terrain: most of the time a white road was in front of us, and the pouring rain made things extremely difficoult to handle. Just to add some more details at the day spent...the altimetric profile was a hell today; always up and down and if my legs could write now they would say: "Andrea, we are tired, bring us home!".
back to the stage, Coburg was crossed @ lunch time and we discovered that this eastern city in the old western Germany will soon be the meeting point of 250.000 people for a samba meeting (difficoult to immagine how all these people will stay and how the samba atmosphere will be recreated: people is still wearing coats!!!).
because of the delays - technical and atmospheric - it was decided to shorten the stage and the final goal was set in Schelussingen...the heritage of the Eastern Germany is evident in the architecture of the town suburbs, and in the expressions of the people we were asking road information.
The weather didn´t allow us to select a camping...and now I am writing in the bed of of a fantastic gathaus waiting to fall aslee.........zzzzz..zzz...zzz.
ah ah ah ah ah before I copmpletely sleep...I wanted to hilight the marvellous gulash suppe eaten in a stube in Schleussingen...as written on the "coca cola" bottles:REFRESHING AND UPLIFTING!
I don´t know why but this is the soundtrack of the todays stage...click here
